Out for a short ride

Got home from work today, beautiful weather, had to go for a ride. Went for a spin around some local neighborhoods. Bike cut out a couple of times when I came to a stop, thinking the clutch needs a little adjustment. Best part was the look on my wife's face when she passed me when I was pulling out onto the road.

Front tire on

Over the last couple of nights I got the front wheel off and replaced the front tire and tube, also added a rim protector. The bike now runs a lot smoother, still a little bit off vibration from the rear which I'm ready to change next.

Downloaded a PDF of the owners manual for the bike, which is great because they are hard to come by, it recommends 95octane fuel, premium is 93 so thats the best I can do. Put the gas in her this morning and took it for a spin around the neighborhood, just as I was getting back to the house the engine perked up nicely (nice new premium gas) so I took her for another lap. Running a lot better now and I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself.

Next: Change the back tire

Tire problem.

Took a spin down the street. First real shake down. Good news, I have a second and third gear. Bad news, once I was moving there was a noticeable up and down movement on the front wheel. My wife noticed the up and down movement watching as I passed. Taught it might be a buckle in the wheel but It could be just a flat spot on the tire from where it sat in the one spot to long. Will need some more investigation.

Ready to Ride!!

OK, got my motorcycle endorsement on my license (passed the DMV tests), got he title transferred and the bike registered (got the license plate/tags). Just need to bolt the tags on and off we go. Just hope second gear engages. Plan is to take it up the road to a local church car park and run through the maneuvers I learned at the course. This will be the bikes first big test.
